Setting up your custom emails with UPT Hosting is quick and easy, but requires a few steps.

First, log into your Cpanel homepage, then hit Email Deliverability

INSERT IMAGE 1

Once your on the Email Deliverability page, you will see a list containing your domain, the domains email deliverability status, and a few options. Note that you should see a deliverability status like this: "  (DMARC, DKIM, and SPF)". Hit manage to fix this.

Once inside the manage page, you should see a list of DNS Records with a message "Problems Exist" next to each of them. Leave this page open for now, and head to your domain registrar DNS page. This is the place you bought your domain from (Cloudflare, Namecheep, Google Domains, ect). For this guide, we will use cloudflare, but the process is almost identical across the registrars.

Navigate to the DNS page on your domain registrar, you should already have a few records here which you used to setup your website initially, if not Click here for setup help. On your DNS page, click "Add Record". Select "A" to create an A Record. For the name, set it to mail (on some registrars you need to type out "mail.yourdomain.com", replacing yourdomain.com with your domain name and extension). Then, fill in the IPV4 address of your web server, hit save. Make sure to uncheck the proxy option if given.

Next, well create an MX record. Do this by selecting "add record", then select "MX", Use "@" for root or enter your root domain (yourdomain.com). Then, under mail server, enter "mail.yourdomain.com". Finally, under priority put "0".

Now, head back to cpanel where you left off. You should see a list of DNS records that are not setup correctly. Each record should have a suggestion with the value's required for the rest of your records. The contents of ours are hidden for privacy. You will first create a DKIM record. To do this, select the record type "TXT" while pasting the name and value in the respective fields.

Repeat the steps above for SPF and Dmarc records. Finally, create a PTR record, paste the name and value in the record fields.

You have successfully created all the required records for your email server. The last step is to go back to the deliverability page and check your deliverability. You should see no errors. Note: It can take up to 24-72 hours for some records, especially Dmarc, to update depending on your registrar.
